Eco Assist System
How do you know if you are driving a Honda Insight efficiently?
 
Honda’s Eco Assit system is designed to show you how efficiently you’re driving to help you keep improving.
Eco Assist System
 
Guidance function   Guidance function - provides real time, fuel efficient driving guidance. Brake or accelerate aggressively and the speedometer display will change colour from green to blue.
     
eco   Scoring function - provides feedback on how you're driving. At the end of each journey you are given an ECO score which is then added to your lifetime score. The better your score, the more money you've saved on fuel and the less harmful you've been to the planet.
     
econ mode button   Econ Mode Button - Adjusts the car to make the most of every last drop of fuel, by controlling the air conditioning unit, extending the idle stop time and increasing regenerative recharging when you brake.
     

Economy
So what makes the New Honda Insight so economical?
Unlike a traditional transmission, the Insight's Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) flows seamlessly between an infinite number of effective gear ratios. That means you enjoy highly responsive acceleration and deceleration in seamless, step-less increments. Not only does this reduce noise and jerkiness, but it also helps reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

Running costs.
The Insight's hybrid technology delivers a low fuel consumption of up to 64.2mpg, and produces only 101g/km of CO2. That results in the inexpensive B VED tax band.

Insight   BRAKE ASSIST
Reduces your stopping distance if you have to make an emergency stop. The system detects the quick pedal action and automatically boosts braking power.
     
Brake Assist  

ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM)
Prevents the wheels from locking under heavy braking, allowing the driver to maintain steering control and reducing the possibility of a skid on wet or icy surfaces.
     
ABS   VSA (VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST)
Helps the Insight from skidding by detecting when oversteer or understeer is imminent. When necessary, VSA reduces engine power and the ABS system to apply braking to individual wheels as needed to regain control.
     
VSA   EBD (ELECTRONIC BRAKE-FORCE DISTRIBUTION)
Helps you maintain directional stability. Works with ABS, analysing weight distribution around the car and automatically adjusting the braking force applied to the front and rear wheels.

High Specification as standard
The Insight is economical to run, but that doesn't mean it's lacking in specification. Every Insight features climate control, front and rear electric windows, heated electric mirrors, alloy wheels and MP3 compatibility as standard. The ES grade includes features such as automatic wipers and lights, a USB port, cruise control and heated front seats. The ES-T model is equipped with DVD Satellite Navigation and Hands Free Technology (HFT).
